Each of the delightful pieces is hand crafted in genuine pewter and represents characters and objects from the period. Each of the themed characters ranks is denoted by the heavy pewter base upon which it is mounted. The pieces are hand-finished to ensure the set looks extra special when displayed.
The large 34cm (14") board is crafted in white and black inlaid marble. The box is of a two tier design, it safely stores the board beneath the tray for the pieces. This tray has seperate inserts for each chess piece. The whole box is lined with synthetic blue silk and velveteen and has two external metal clasps.
