Zoom image | This State Crown was made for Queen Mary of Modena, the second wife of King James II, to wear during the return journey from Westminster Abbey in 1685.
The small design of the Diadem was to enable it to be worn on the high hairstyles of the period. Both her crown and Diadem can be seen in the Jewel House at HM Tower of London.
